My name is Giorgio Savona, and I'm a freelance cameraman and director of photography based in Paris, France. With over a decade of experience in television, documentaries and entertainment, I specialize in broadcast news, documentary filmmaking and live field production for international networks.

I've worked with CNN, HBO, Bloomberg, France 24, ZDF, La Sexta, Aragon TV and the Olympic Channel, covering news and current affairs across France, Spain and Italy. In 2024 I worked as a cameraman during the Paris Olympics. My broadcast work includes political coverage, interviews with world leaders and breaking news for international audiences.

Documentary filmmaking remains my greatest passion. My most recent film as director of photography and co-producer, A Little Gray Wolf Will Come, had its world premiere in competition at Sheffield Doc Fest 2025. It has since screened at CPH:DOX 2026 in the Urgent Matters section with a nomination for the Audience Award, RIDF Rome International Documentary Festival, Cinehill Film Festival, Artdocfest/Riga 2026 in competition, and is confirmed for Doxumentale Berlin 2026 as its German premiere and NYCIndieFF in New York. Earlier credits include Party Boi Black Diamonds as DP and Brighton 4th as assistant camera, which won at the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2018 I led a six-person crew as head of project on Dance USA Dance for ZeeTV, filming the national tour across fourteen cities and the finals at the Palladium Times Square in New York.

I own a full ENG kit including Sony FX6, Sony FS5, professional audio and LED lighting, and I'm experienced with LiveU Solo transmission and Overon broadcast infrastructure. I hold a French press card and have my own vehicle for shoots anywhere in France.

I'm fluent in Italian, English, French, Russian and Spanish, which allows me to work comfortably on multilingual productions across Europe and beyond.

I hold a Masters in Photography from the International Center of Photography in New York and a Doctorate in Physics from Universita degli Studi Roma Tre.
